Ottawa Citizen: What you want, when you want it

Becky Rynor’s feature on Podcasters Across Borders is on page B6 of today’s (July 9, 2006) Ottawa Citizen. Complete with a photo of an iPod playing Ian and Angela’s now defunct “2Down” Podcast (the photo was originally in an article from May 2005 – I think – that featured 2Down, and Maurizio Ortolani), the feature gives a rundown of some of the discussions that took place during the conference and summarizes some of the genres and regions represented at PAB2006.

Most importantly, the article opens up by stating, quite clearly, that listening to Podcasts does not require an iPod!

A subscription is required to view the online version of the article.

Nico launches Snowy Day Design

Snowy Day DesignIf you were at PAB2006, you know about Nico.  He designed the PAB logo, website and t-shirt.  In fact, we think he may have designed almost as many websites as we have produced Podcasts.

Nico has launched his own web design business, Snowy Day Design.  If you’re looking for a logo, blog theme or website design, contact him. His work is fantastic! Check out his portfolio to see for yourself.

PAB on Podcasting News

Podcasting News has run a piece about PAB2006. I’m guessing that the writeup will create a lot of interest in PAB2007.

PAB Speakers on the Buffet

Official audio recordings from PAB2006 will be published on the Canadian Podcast Buffet feed over the next few weeks.  Recordings that will be made availalbe include all of the speaking sessions, the panel, the Saturday night concert by Dala and Uncle Seth, and perhaps some other audio highlights.

The first of these Podcasts, the keynote address by Shelagh Rogers and the Q&A session that followed, was published earlier this evening.  Tod Maffin’s introduction of Shelagh is also in the show.

The Canadian Podcast Community Family Tree

As mentioned during the conference, we have started a project to document the pedigree of the Canadian Podcast Community. If you are a Canadian Podcaster, please click here to participate in this project by submitting information about you, your show and its origins. The resulting “family tree” will be prepared and published later this year.
