5:00pmET today… that’s the deadline to submit your proposal to deliver a Jolt at Podcasters Across Borders 2008 (PAB2008)

A Jolt is an 5-minute session during which the you will wake-up the imaginations, brains and collective energy of the community. Successful proposals will identify how you will present new ideas for innovation in content, production, tools and activities (real and virtual). This is a chance for you to inspire others or make a pitch to collaborate to improve upon an existing idea or tool, or launch a new one.

Jolts CANNOT be used to sell a product or service, or launch a business venture. They are meant to get people thinking, talking, connecting and collaborating.

Email your proposal to podcastersacrossborders@gmail.com by 5pmET today. We’ll announce the selected proposals next week.

Jolt speakers will not be compensated.

This is a friendly reminder to book your hotel room at the PAB2008. The rate is available until May 21, while rooms remain available. If either of those run out before you book a room, you will not be able to get a room at the PAB2008 rate.

The room rate is CDN$158/night plus taxes (for the nights of June 20 and 21 only). The rooms are non-smoking with two double beds and wired high-speed Internet access. Registrants for PAB2008 can take advantage of a special rate at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront hotel (the event site) by making a reservation at 613-549-8400 ext. 2660 and identifying that you are registered for Podcasters Across Borders.

There are only nine days left to propose a Jolt for PAB2008.

We are accepting submissions via email (podcastersacrossborders@gmail.com) until 5pmET on April 30, 2008. Then we’ll go through the submissions and select our favourites for the actual conference. Jolt speakers will not be compensated.

It’s incredible to me that even though there is still snow on my front lawn, we are EXACTLY TWO MONTHS away from PAB2008! I just wanted to share a quick note to point out that on this day in June, we’ll all be having an awesome time in Kingston, and some of us will be trying to figure out how to get and unnamed Scarberian Podcaster back into the Merchant Tap house pub..

If you plan to stay at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront as part of your Podcasters Across Borders experience, take note that the PAB rate is only applicable on Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21.  Extended stays before or after PAB do not qualify for the rate.  It may be necessary to make split reservations with the hotel in order to get the PAB rate for both nights.

Remember, we have a limited block of rooms available at the preferred rate.  The rate is only available until May 21 or until all of the rooms are booked.  Reserve early.
