From John Meadows comes a great idea to help the PAB community connect more meaninfully before and during PAB2008…

Select a two-to-three minute highlight of your podcast that you feel best introduces new listeners to your show, to you and your style — it could be a segment from a single episode, clips from multiple episodes or a well produced promo — and send it to podcastersacrossborders@gmail.com in MP3 format.  If you have more than one show, send in a separate submission for each podcast you produce.  We’ll create a series of podcasts that introduce PAB2008 registrants to each other so that the ice is broken even before you meet face-to-face.

Remember, the idea is to help people know more about your show and motivate them to find you and introduce themselves to you at PAB.

We’ve issued a PAB PROMO CHALLENGE on the Canadian Podcast Buffet, we’ll be posting the entries here as as well as adding them to our “Help us Promote PAB” page, where you’ll also find badges and stuff..

We’ve updated our FAQ page, feel free to email us any questions you have, and we’ll add our answers to that page.

In case you haven’t already done so, today is your last day to book your hotel room at the PAB2008 preferred rate.

The room rate is CDN$158/night plus taxes (for the nights of June 20 and 21 only). The rooms are non-smoking with two double beds and wired high-speed Internet access (FREE wired high-speed Internet access!). Registrants for PAB2008 can take advantage of a special rate at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront hotel (the event site) by making a reservation at 613-549-8400 ext. 2660 and identifying that you are registered for Podcasters Across Borders.

George Motoc from Canadian Immigrant song did some dry reads to promote PAB, and you can use them on your show! Imagine, someone ELSE’s voice on your podcast! I know, the possibilities are endless!
