We’re closing in on having a full speaking program. That means we can start considering JOLT! submissions as early as next week — stay tuned!
We are pleased to announce another three confirmed sessions.
Lawyer Tamir Israel of CIPPIC will present on the Canadian Supreme Court’s “Responsible Communication” ruling of December 2009. The ruling is cutting edge because it provides an acceptable defense to defamation actions against both journalists and bloggers.
Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders‘ Director of Communications Avril Benoît will talk about how the independent humanitarian organization harnesses social media to engage the global public.
CBC Journalist Kady O’Malley will speak about about the crossroads of traditional and digital media relevance and how strong media brands (both personal and mainstream) are able to succeed in the digital age.
