We are accepting session and JOLT! proposals for PAB2011 until March 15, 2011.This year’s theme is…

Your story deserves to be told. Well.

Listen to the episode 175 of The Canadian Podcast Buffet for a discussion on the theme and how your speaking session or JOLT! can help make PAB2011 (the 6th edition of the conference) the best one, yet!

Submissions that will be given the most weight are those that present unique skills, challenge new media producers to think beyond current norms and share ideas on the story experience for creators and their audiences. Presentations can focus on both soft and technical skills for text, audio and video productions and CANNOT be used to sell a product or service, or launch a business venture. They are meant to get people thinking, talking and connecting.

Speaking sessions have a 20 minute time limit with additional time allocated for Q&A. JOLTS! are timed five-minute “lightning talks” mean to put new ideas into the community for innovation in content, storytelling and the story experience, production, tools and activities (real and virtual). This is a chance for someone to inspire the community or make a pitch to collaborate to improve upon an existing idea or tool, or launch a new one.

Presenters are given free registration to PAB2011, though they are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

If you are interested in being part of the speaking program at this year’s conference, please send a text proposal of 150 words, or an audio or video proposal of two-minutes or less to canadianpodcastbuffet@gmail.com.

JOLT!s were first incorporated in PAB2008 and were wildly popular.  A JOLT! is a timed 5-minute, slide-free session during which the speaker wakes-up the imaginations, brains and collective energy of the community.  Successful proposals will identify how you will present new ideas for innovation in content, production, tools, activities (real and virtual).  Remember to relate your talk to the theme. This is a chance for you to inspire others or make a pitch to collaborate to improve upon an existing idea or tool, or launch a new one.  JOLT!s cannot be used to sell a product or service, or launch a business venture. They are meant to get people thinking, talking, connecting and collaborating. JOLT! speakers receive no compensation.

We are accepting proposals for PAB2009 until 5pmET May 14, 2010.

If you are interested in being a JOLT! speaker at PAB2010, please submit a written proposal of no more than 150 words or an audio or video proposal of two-minutes or less to podcastersacrossborders@gmail.com.  Your proposal must include contact information, a title, and a summary of your JOLT!

We received a lot of proposals for speaking sessions and JOLTS for PAB2009, particularly in the final hours approaching the submission deadline.

The process of reviewing the submissions will begin this week and program announcements will take place by the end of February.
